Through our Women Who Inspire Us series we aim to highlight women who live their lives in a way that we find empowering. We introduce you to someone who has crossed our path - virtually or IRL - and left a lasting impression.
One such woman is Carla Nicieza, an artist and designer whose work flows between her personal project, Nicieza Studios, and her creative storytelling on social media. Based in Mallorca, she embraces a slower pace - finding inspiration in everyday moments, nature, and the freedom to shape her days with intention.
Today, we are excited to share our #WomenWhoInspireUs interview with Carla Nicieza. Her words offer a glimpse into her creative world, where art, design, and slow living come together in harmony.
Introducing - Carla Nicieza
How do you describe what you do?
I would describe myself as both an artist and designer, working on my personal project, Nicieza Studios, while also creating content on social media. To me, everything is interconnected and continuously inspires one another!
Name three words that describe you.
Curious, calm, creative.
Share some moments that calm your mind and make you happy. What do you do to unwind and reconnect with yourself?
I feel happiest when spending quality time with friends and family. I love the lifestyle here in Mallorca and all the creative work I get to do. To be honest, having the freedom to shape each day as I choose is something I’m deeply grateful for.
Whenever I feel overwhelmed or stuck, I try to move my body, step away from screens, and immerse myself in nature. Recently, my brother and I bought a summer house in the forest, and it brings me so much joy - We’re slowly working on it, and I can’t wait to learn more about materials and gardening.
What does slow living mean to you?
For me, slow living is about finding beauty in the small, everyday moments - eating homemade food, taking a beach dip after work, wearing high-quality pieces I truly cherish, reading... That’s what led me to life on a Mediterranean island.

Tell us about your morning routine!
My mornings don’t always look the same, but I love waking up early, journaling with a cup of tea, and then heading into the city for a barre class at the studio or a coffee by the sea with my boyfriend. After that, I dive into work - whether it’s answering emails, painting, or shooting content for a brand.
Where do you find your inspiration?
All around! I love spending my time immersed in books, magazines, and Pinterest. I’m also lucky to have creative parents and a circle of friends here, all entrepreneurs in different creative fields.
Knowing what you know now, what would you tell your 18 year old self?
When I was younger, I thought that having many interests but not being an expert in one was a disadvantage. Over the years, I’ve realized it’s actually the opposite. So, I would tell my younger self to trust her gut, read a lot, and keep expanding her horizons.
Can you highlight a specific piece of clothing you've owned for a long time that holds a special place in your heart, and share the story behind it?
The first thing that comes to mind is a black suit - a long blazer and a midi skirt - that Skall Studio gave me for their show at Copenhagen Fashion Week. It was my first-ever show with a brand I loved, and the experience was so beautiful and emotional. It truly felt like a milestone moment.
Your current or all time favorite song?
It is hard to choose one because I love music and curating playlists, but right now I would say Jazz is for ordinary people by Berlioz - I watched him live in Paris a couple months ago and it was amazing.
